Friday’s Patriots injury report seemed to indicate quarterback Mac Jones is one step closer to returning to game action.

During his Friday morning press conference, Bill Belichick told reporters that Mac Jones has been doing more this week than he was last week. That seemed to be an encouraging update on the Patriots' starting quarterback, and Friday's injury report continued that trend.

For Sunday's game against the Browns, the Patriots have Jones - who has missed the last two games with a high-ankle sprain - listed as questionable. This comes after he was listed as doubtful last week against the Lions, and ultimately ended up not playing.

Questionable is still of course, questionable. There's no guarantee that Jones will play, but it's a clear sign of progress.

Jones is one of nine Patriots players listed as questionable on the report. That includes defensive tackle Christian Barmore (knee), who was added to the report on Friday and was a limited participant in practice. Running back Damien Harris (hamstring), wide receivers Nelson Agholor (hamstring) and Jakobi Meyers (knee), tight end Jonnu Smith (ankle), defensive lineman Lawrence Guy (shoulder), and cornerback Jonathan Jones (ankle) are also listed.

The Patriots did rule out one player in linebacker Josh Uche (hamstring). Uche didn't begin the week on the report, but was a non-participant at practice both Thursday and Friday.

Three players also came off the injury report on Friday. Center David Andrews (back), defensive lineman DaMarcus Mitchell (concussion) and cornerback Jalen Mills (hamstring) all appear to be good to go.

As for the Browns, they ruled out three players including starting defensive end Jadeveon Clowney (ankle, knee, elbow) and starting cornerback Denzel Ward (concussion), as well as backup tackle Joe Haeg (concussion). No other players received a game status for Cleveland.
