The Felger and Mazz Big Board is officially back for the 2024 NFL Draft! With the New England Patriots slated to draft at 3rd overall in this year’s draft, the Big Board will be more important than ever before! Here is a look at the running backs that were hit on the Big Board by the Felger and Mazz program! 

 

But before this year’s selections at running back, here’s a look at who the Big Board has hit on in the past! 

Jake Bequette – Defensive End – Arkansas – 2012 NFL Draft – 3rd round 90th overall 

Aaron Dobson – Wide Receiver – Marshall – 2013 NFL Draft – 2nd round 59th overall

    Here are some strengths and weaknesses courtesy of NFL.com

    Strengths 

    • Exceptional size with a body type made for NFL workload.
    • Above-average bend and lateral-cut agility for a big back.
    • Lowers pads and balances through contact to stay up and running.

    Weaknesses

    • Leaves yards on the field due to bouts of indecisiveness.
    • Too many wasted steps in getting to where he needs to go.
    • Lacks vision and burst to scare defenses with big-play potential.

    Here are some strengths and weaknesses courtesy of NFL.com 

    Strengths 

    • Posted considerable production across all phases of involvement.
    • Runs efficient one-cut tracks with lowered pads and short strides.
    • Effective setting up tacklers into oncoming blocks.

    Weaknesses

    • Doesn’t have size or power to break NFL tackles as an inside runner.
    • Below-average lateral footwork to elude linebackers in the hole.
    • Will require better technique to square up blitzers in pass protection.

    Strengths 

    • Ability to stack cuts back-to-back and in either direction.
    • Impressive lateral footwork to slide around traffic and reset his run lane.
    • Moves through the line with feet close to the ground for added contact balance.

    Weaknesses

    • Unorthodox running style lacks cohesiveness.
    • Doesn’t show much read-and-burst quickness hitting it downhill.
    • Has a tendency to try and extend runs that need to be finished with pop.
