The Felger and Mazz Big Board is officially back for the 2024 NFL Draft! With the New England Patriots slated to draft at 3rd overall in this year’s draft, the Big Board will be more important than ever before! Below are the Inside Linebackers who were hit on the Big Board in 2024! 

 

But before this year’s Inside Linebacker selections, here’s a look at who the Big Board has hit on in the past! 

Jake Bequette – Defensive End – Arkansas – 2012 NFL Draft – 3rd round 90th overall 

Aaron Dobson – Wide Receiver – Marshall – 2013 NFL Draft – 2nd round 59th overall 

Jimmy Garoppolo – Quarterback – Eastern Illinois – 2014 NFL Draft- 2nd round 62nd overall

    Here are some strengths and weaknesses courtesy of NFL.com

    Strengths 

    • Long and athletic; a multi-sport star in high school.
    • Showed wide receiver-like speed at the NFL Scouting Combine, posting a 4.43-second 40-yard dash.
    • Has the hands and eyes to dart into passing lanes and take the ball away.

    Weaknesses

    • Lacks play strength and take-on technique to consistently leverage his gap.
    • Can be too willing to side-step a block rather than play off of it.
    • Injury history dating back to high school could be concerning for teams.

    Strengths 

    • Final season was filled with production as a tackler.
    • Broad across upper body with a long wingspan for his height.
    • Steps downhill and meets blockers with a jarring punch.

    Weaknesses

    • Doesn’t show enough feel for play development.
    • Gets eager and bounces out of position during diagnosis.
    • Stayed blocked too often in UW’s game against Texas.

    Strengths 

    • Willingness to dive into lane development to spill running backs wide.
    • Posted six interceptions over the last two seasons.
    • Experience in coverage on special teams.

    Weaknesses

    • Below-average instincts and field awareness at times.
    • Lacks consistent command as a playmaker in the middle.
    • Will become impatient and run himself out of the play.
