Felger: Can you believe it's gone this badly?
Adam Jones: Yes.
Felger: I can't. We were all down on it. So, like, I never thought it was going to work with Patricia and Judge. I thought they'd be able to fake it. Or at least represent, you know, in the preseason when you can really manage the way that it looks and that we really wouldn't see the thing fail until the tough games on the schedule and that's where they'd come up short. So I was always like, we all were like, Matt Patricia's going to run your offense? Joe Judge is coming back to coach your quarterback? We said that the week of the Super Bowl when they announced it. So we've been down on it. I've been under eight and a half wins the entire time. But I am surprised that those fears have been so starkly realized so soon that I am surprised at. Because usually you come out, you bash the Patriots or you come out, you think something is not going to work and it works at least for a time. And you get "oooh how you like him now?". You people out there even haven't had one practice rep. Not even one. Have you had one thing to say, "don't you feel stupid", not even one Jones! You know this as well as anyone. Have they given you one thing?
Adam Jones: No, no. The whole game was a mess. The reps are a mess. The joint practices are a mess. I thought most of last week's game against Carolina was a mess too. I don't even like that. So, no, nothing. And by the way, I think Bill is trying to manage it. He had his backups go against the Giants starters in week one. Didn't play his starters. His starters have gone against backups for the Panthers, a horrible team. And the Raiders, like a middling playoff type of team, but not the top of the league, and they're struggling against backups. They're struggling against themselves when they practice against themselves. They're struggling against backups like that makes it that much worse.

Mazz: Mike, the part that you're talking about is on Bill. Because I know what you're saying, they were going to have problems, they were going to struggle, but Bill would find a way to at least make it work well enough, be functional and certainly hide some of that. And I don't think, that's the part to me that is stunning, is that he hasn't been able to hide it. Like they're clueless. Some of these zone runs, they look like freaking fire drills.
Felger: It's insane.
Adam Jones: That first one to Stevenson.
Mazz: Holy Crap!
Adam Jones: You start out with a nice play to Parker and then it's just five yards in the wrong direction. First run of the game.
Mazz: On that play, it was almost like the Raiders said, "while you guys are trying to dance, we're just going to run back there and kill your running back". That's what it felt like to me.
