  • Jayson Tatum led the way with 32 points, as the Boston Celtics held on to beat the Chicago Bulls, 107-99, on Monday night at TD Garden.

The Celtics clung to a 101-99 lead in the final minute, but Al Horford effectively delivered the final dagger on a clutch three-pointer with 25 seconds left. Bulls guard Zach LaVine missed three shot attempts in the final 1:26 of the game, coming up short at the end after a 27-point effort.

Tatum added eight rebounds and seven assists to go with his game-high 32 points. He scored 11 in the third quarter to keep the Celtics comfortably in the lead, and later finished off the win with a dunk and a free-throw in the closing seconds.

  • Celtics center Robert Williams III started for the first time this season, after coming off the bench in his first nine games back. He still played just 22:56 in total minutes, while Grant Williams played 36:44.

The Celtics reconfigured their usual lineup in the absence of Marcus Smart, going with more size among the starters while leaning on Derrick White at point guard. White led all C’s point guards with 30:03, while Malcolm Brogdon contributed 21:56 of his own. Payton Pritchard played just 3:38, despite the Celtics’ thinned depth chart.

  • Jaylen Brown scored 15 points in the first half, but just four in the second, finishing 7-for-21 shooting. Brown was 0-for-8 shooting from three-point range. Grant Williams picked up the slack, finishing with 20 points and three triples off the bench.

Up Next: The Celtics get back at it on Wednesday night with another home game, this time against the New Orleans Pelicans. Boston beat New Orleans 117-109 last time they played, back on Nov. 18.
