Boston Celtics

On Monday’s edition of Zolak & Bertrand, Beetle admitted that he hasn’t seen Joe Mazzulla’s timeout strategy payoff for the Celtics

  • I've yet to see it...

Marc Bertrand: Al Horford’s defense on Joel Embiid was taking up some mindspace of Joel Embiid in that fourth quarter. I think you even heard Doris Burke mention it on the broadcast. They were. All of a sudden, they were a tentative team those 76ers. The Celtics had them on the run and it all came out of that timeout with 7:15 to go.

Scott Zolak: Al’s good at pushing buttons man too, he did it with Giannis last year, like he could get after you.

Marc Bertrand: Now obviously that timeout serves a different purpose than what the one would serve with 19 seconds to go in overtime. But yeah, it’s just a way of mentioning that the Celtics can re-group and be a better team out of a timeout. Too many times, they have finished games this year with timeouts going unused and and I just have yet to see the competitive advantage of not using the timeouts for this team. I’ve yet to see it.
