It’s not uncommon in the NFL to see teams sign free agents who recently played in their division. After all those are the players they’re most familiar with, having to prepare to face them twice a year every year.

This year, we’ve already seen multiple Patriots sign with the other AFC East teams. On Tuesday, another player was added to that list.

  • As first reported by Brian Costello of the New York Post, the Jets are signing tackle Yodny Cajuste. After tendering him as an RFA, the Patriots released Cajuste earlier this month.

Cajuste, 27, was a third-round pick by the Patriots in the 2019 NFL Draft. Injuries have been an issue for him throughout his career, causing him to miss two full seasons and play just 17 total games in the other two combined. In 2022, he played a career-high 10 games with three starts.

While other AFC East teams had already signed former Patriots, Cajuste is the first for the Jets this year. The Dolphins added tackle Isaiah Wynn and punter Jake Bailey, while the Bills signed running back Damien Harris.
