Report: Julio Jones has the Patriots ‘on his radar’
Based on reports from the last few days, the Patriots seem to be interested in acquiring Falcons receiver Julio Jones. Now, it appears that interest may be mutual.
According to Chris Simms of NBC Sports, the Patriots are one of two teams Jones is eyeing after requesting a trade from the Falcons. Jones let it be known on Monday that he expects to be traded before the season.
Simms told PFT Live that “the Titans and the Patriots are very much on [Jones’] radar.” Simms continued to say the information came from “someone I trust that has a little knowledge on the matter. So, we’ll see where that goes.”
While Jones’ interest in the Patriots adds fuel to the fire of the rumors, what it means for a trade with getting done with New England isn’t completely clear. Jones doesn’t have a no-trade clause in his contract, so the Falcons are free to send him to whichever team gives them the best offer.
