Bill Belichick publishes his 2024 NFL ‘All-Belichick Team’
Bill Belichick took to Instagram on Valentine’s Day to release his “All-Belichick Team.” He lists 1-3 players at each position group that he thought had the best season in 2024.
“On Valentine’s Day there is usually a lot of love in the air. 30 years ago today, there was not a lot of love in Cleveland when Art Modell decided to move the team and leave me behind. I am not sure if anyone then would’ve cared about my All-Belichick Team. I’m not sure if anyone even cares now. But here is it. Thank you Michael Lombardi for helping me curate this list,” Belichick wrote in the caption of the post.
Belichick had Josh Allen (the 2024 NFL MVP) as his No. 1 quarterback. He had Justin Jefferson and Terry McLaurin as the best wide receivers, along with Amon-Ra St. Brown as the best slot receiver in 2024. Unsurprisingly, Saquon Barkley was Belichick’s best running back, but what could come as a surprise to some was George Kittle was his top tight end, despite a down year for the 49ers overall.
On the defensive side of the ball, he had three edge rushers who made the list guided by Myles Garrett — who some speculate may spring loose from the Browns through a trade. Cooper DeJean was the No. 1 nickel cornerback on Belichick’s list, after he had a strong season. But one could wonder how much influence his stellar Super Bowl performance had on the list.
Overall, Bill provides an interesting perspective to who should be considered the 2024 “best-in-the-game.”
