Bruins’ David Pastrňák named NHL First Star for January
The 2024-25 season has been up-and-down for the Boston Bruins — they have a record of 27-22-6 with 60 points over 55 games played and are just outside a wild card spot in the Eastern Conference — but in January, the B’s had at least one player firing on all cylinders, David Pastrňák.
The 28-year-old has been the best player in the Bruins roster for many years over, but to start 2025, in the month of January, he was named the NHL First Star for the month.
Pastrňák has always been known for his goal scoring, but in January his 24 points (11 goals) led the league in that category; he registered a point in all but two of the 14 games the Bruins played over the month.

His 66 points on the season leads all Bruins players — he leads in goals, assists, and points per game as well. He is tied for No. 7 in the NHL among the league leaders for points. The winger is also No. 7 in the league for goals (27).
Pastrňák is under contract with the Bruins through the 2030-31 season ($11,250,000 per year), he will be 35 years old when it expires, but for now, he stands as one of the best players on the Bruins and his goal scoring will be necessary if the team wishes to make another playoff run in 2025.
