Vinni Lettieri is The Peterson School’s Hardest Working Player of the Week
Bruins forward Vinni Lettieri was recalled from the minors last week with an AHL scoring punch.
In fact, at the time of his recall, Lettieri was the third-highest scorer in the minors. And while the transition from the AHL to the NHL is rarely seamless from a scoring standpoint, the 29-year-old Lettieri has done his part to make it so, and has earned this week’s nod as the Peterson School’s Hardest Working Player of the Week.
In action for three games this past week, Lettieri scored two tallies, including the game-opening marker in Monday’s win over the Sharks at TD Garden.
But in an effort to stick, Lettieri has done more than just score some goals.
Over the last three games, only David Pastrnak (18) has attempted more shots at five-on-five play than Lettieri (12). And only Morgan Geekie (8) has been credited with more individual scoring chances-for than Lettieri and his six individual scoring chances-for over his three-game run.
Lettieri, a Minnesota-born journeyman, has also dug in with some jam, too, with one penalty drawn and a team-leading 10 hits since his recall.
The Hardest Working Player of the Week is sponsored by The Peterson School. The Peterson School is now enrolling for their spring semester in Woburn, Westwood, Worcester, and Haverhill. To learn more, visit petersonschool.com.
