Patriots interview Vikings assistant for offensive coordinator job
The New England Patriots have reportedly interviewed Minnesota Vikings offensive staffer Grant Udinski for their offensive coordinator job.
The New England Patriots’ offensive coordinator search is into its second week. Last week, the team reportedly interviewed Thomas Brown and Marcus Brady. On Tuesday, the team added another name to that list.
According to Albert Breer of SI, the Patriots have interviewed Grant Udinski of the Minnesota Vikings. Udinski has been the Vikings’ assistant quarterbacks coach the last two years, and was also named an assistant offensive coordinator last year.
Udinski, 28, joined the Vikings in 2022 as an assistant to the head coach. Before that he was a coaching assistant for the Carolina Panthers for two years, and began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Baylor in 2019. He played football in college, as a defensive end at Towson.
In Minnesota, Udinski is highly regarded on staff. Breer noted that he is “very valuable in Minnesota.”
“He’s got such an unbelievable understanding, from his background on offense and defense, and his sheer football stamina is something I really admire,” Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell said of Udinski in November.
The Patriots aren’t the only team pursuing Udinski. He also interviewed with the Seattle Seahawks for their offensive coordinator position.
