Bruins make another recall from Providence
The Bruins’ attempts to have an incident-free, extra body-free road trip failed when Hampus Lindholm was injured in Tuesday’s win over the Blues.
It was also enough for the Bruins to think they needed more than just Jordan Oesterle with the club for Thursday’s finale, with Patrick Brown officially recalled from Providence on Thursday afternoon.
Now in his second season with the organization, Brown’s recall comes following a start that’s included three goals and seven points games for the P-Bruins. The 32-year-old Brown, who played in 42 games for Providence a year ago, was also named captain of the P-Bruins back on Oct. 17.
A right-shot forward capable of playing both center and wing, Brown made 11 appearances for the Big B’s a season ago, with one assist, 25 hits, and a 45.5 faceoff percentage over that run.
Overall, Brown has appeared in 149 NHL games over eight seasons since 2014-15, with 10 goals and 25 points over stints with the Hurricanes, Golden Knights, Flyers, Senators, and Bruins.
Barring some sort of late change to the lineup, Brown is projected to serve as Boston’s lone healthy scratch for Thursday’s head-to-head with the Stars.
