Zolak & Bertrand: What grade would you give Eliot Wolf so far?
On Wednesday’s edition of Zolak & Bertrand, the guys reacted to Andrew Callahan of the Boston Herald giving Eliot Wolf a “B” for his work so far.
No points for drafting Drake Maye…
Marc Bertrand:
My thought now is ok, so nobody wanted to actually commit to making a deal for K.J. Osborn. Apparently, the Chargers just checked in, but didn’t want to do anything. If I’m the team right now, do you know what I’m doing with that situation? Cutting him loose. I’d release him.
Scott Zolak:
Why would you cut him?
Marc Bertrand:
Why not?
Scott Zolak:
What if one of your guys goes down? What if Pop Douglas goes down? What if Ja’Lynn Polk goes down? You’re going to need somebody.
Marc Bertrand:
Pick someone up off the practice squad.
Scott Zolak:
I’d rather have Osborn than Tyquan Thornton.
Marc Bertrand:
I don’t want either one. In fact, I’d cut them both loose in the middle of the season. You want to fix that room. Fix it. Fix it and bring in some new blood. And I’m not talking about obviously going out and getting a quality player or an upgrade. I’m talking about getting new individuals in there that are off of your practice squad or another. I don’t even know if they got receivers on that squad. I don’t even know who they’re on. Who’s on that list right now? Trying to remember who’s even on the Patriots roster these days is a struggle. But I’m telling you, pick up new guys, pick up guys that are coming in that at least work hard and want to be there. That on a team that is 2-7 and heading for the first overall pick right now could be helpful. You want to improve your culture? Go get guys that are going to buy in.
