Things look to be trending in the right direction for the New England Patriots and San Francisco 49ers heading into their Week 4 matchup this Sunday. On Thursday, both teams were able to upgrade players statuses after issuing lengthy injury reports on Wednesday.
For the Patriots, linebacker Anfernee Jennings (shoulder) took a step forward and was limited after not participating on Wednesday. That left guard Michael Jordan (ankle), tackle Vederian Lowe (knee), and cornerback Alex Austin (ankle) as the team’s three non-participants.
Jennings was one of six players limited along with tight end Hunter Henry (ankle), guard Sidy Sow (ankle), tackle Caedan Wallace (knee), and cornerbacks Christian Gonzalez (shoulder) and Jonathan Jones (shoulder). Offensive lineman Mike Onwenu (wrist) and safety Jabrill Peppers (ankle) were both listed as full participants, while center David Andrews was removed from the report after getting a rest day on Wednesday.
For the 49ers, wide receiver Deebo Samuel (calf) and linebacker Dee Winters (ankle) went from non-participants to limited, while tackle Trent Williams (illness) went from a non-participant to a full participant.
The Niners also added three players who didn’t appear on the report on Wednesday. Wide receiver Jacob Cowing (illness) didn’t practice, while defensive tackle Jordan Elliott (foot) and linebacker Curtis Robinson (knee) were limited.
Three other players remained where they were listed on Wednesday. Defensive tackle Javon Hargrave (triceps) didn’t practice, tight end George Kittle (hamstring) was limited, and quarterback Brock Purdy (back) was a full participant.
