The NFL kicks off week 3 tonight with an AFC matchup as the Jets host the Patriots on Thursday night football. Week 2 was tough for the favorites. The Ravens, Cowboys, 49ers, Lions all lost as favorites of four or more. While Cleaveland held of the Jaguars as 3 point underdogs with a 18-13 win. NFL betting public's record (at least 51% of bets on a game) so far this season Weeks 1-2: 11-20-1 ATS ($100 bettor would be down $989)

The Jets are coming off a 24-17 win over the Titans while the Patriots lost their home opener 23-20 to the Seahawks. The Jets opened at 6.5 point favorites, Thursday home teams are just 37-52 ATS since 2019, including 33-46 ATS in night Thursday games. Robert Saleh is 1-5 SU vs. Patriots in his career, including 4-14 SU, 7-11 ATS vs. divisional opponents in his career. Of his 18 career games vs. divisional opponents, this will be his first as a favorite.
