Patriots rule out four players for Thursday night game against Jets
The New England Patriots have ruled out four players – including two starting offensive linemen – for Thursday night’s game against the New York Jets.
On Wednesday the New England Patriots released their final injury report ahead of their Thursday night game against the New York Jets. The team ruled out four players, including two starting offensive linemen.
Left tackle Vederian Lowe (knee), who didn’t finish Sunday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks, won’t play in this one. Guard Sidy Sow (ankle), who has been out since suffering an injury in the preseason finale, was also ruled out.
With Lowe out, rookie Caedan Wallace projects to get the start at left tackle. Wallace stepped in for Lowe for the final drive of the game last week, but spent most of the summer repping at right tackle – the position he primarily played in college. Michael Jordan, who was signed to the active roster from the practice squad this week, should get the start at left guard again in place of Sow.
In addition to missing those two players, center David Andrews (hip) and right tackle Mike Onwenu (wrist) are both questionable. Guard Layden Robinson was removed from the injury report all together.
On defense, the Patriots will be without linebackers Ja’Whaun Bentley (shoulder) and Oshane Ximines (knee). It was previously reported Bentley could be out for the year due to a pec injury. Defensive lineman Deatrich Wise (shoulder) and safety Jabrill Peppers (shoulder) are both questionable.
As for the Jets, they ruled out linebacker Jermaine Johnson (Achilles). The only other player listed is linebacker C.J. Mosley, who is questionable.
