Tyler Lockett had a humorous reaction after a consequential and controversial call in the Seahawks' win over the Patriots.

Sunday's New England Patriots game had its share of key decisions. Most of those were made by the respective coaching staffs, but one that is receiving plenty of scrutiny came from the officiating crew.

That call came in overtime, when the Seattle Seahawks got the ball of a Patriots punt. On a 1st & 10 from the Seattle 31, quarterback Geno Smith tried throwing deep to wide receiver Tyler Lockett. Patriots cornerback Jonathan Jones appeared to break up the pass, but field judge Eugene Hall called Jones for a pass interference.

Because of that call, the Seahawks got the ball at midfield. Six plays later, they kicked the game-winning field goal.

The call received plenty of criticism from fans in the moment as a ticky-tack flag at a key moment in the game. Somebody who agreed with those fans? Lockett himself.

"The receiver acknowledge that that was not a penalty," Jones shared with reporters after the game. "He said 'that's not a penalty.' Straight up. That's what he told me."

"Without getting fined - I would like someone from the officiating office at the NFL to show where the penalty was," Jones added. "Overtime, I don't feel like that's a penalty."

Jones added a comment on Instagram, posting a picture of the play just with the caption "well."

That penalty - whether is was the right call or not - was costly for the Patriots. At the same time it came in what was overall a clean game for Jerod Mayo's team penalty-wise. They were flagged just three times for 42 yards, including that call.

Still, even one penalty can be costly. Patriots safety and captain Jabrill Peppers summed it up best after the game, noting “[we] can’t leave it up to officials. We gotta make plays.”

The Patriots won't have much time to sit with that tough call and loss. It's a quick turnaround for the team, with a Thursday Night Football meeting with the Jets in New Jersey up next this week.
