FOXBORO -- Only one player was absent at Patriots practice on Wednesday, as they get ready for the Week 2 home opener against the Seattle Seahawks.
The Pats are still without left guard Sidy Sow, who remains sidelined with an ankle injury that kept him out of last Sunday's upset win over the Cincinnati Bengals. In his place, veteran Michael Jordan started and played every snap at LG, and he's on track to do it again vs. Seattle.
We're projecting the Patriots to stick with the same starting offensive line that they had to finish last Sunday's win, leaving Vederian Lowe in at left tackle. Jordan looks like the left guard, with captain David Andrews at center, rookie Layden Robinson at right guard, and Mike Onwenu continuing to rep at right tackle.
Here's an up-close look at the offensive line during Patriots practice, working closely with position coach Scott Peters, who himself worked very closely with Lowe. The left tackle missed multiple weeks of practice heading out of camp and into Week 1, so he has some catching up to do, on top of simply maximizing his available skills to give the team a better performance at left tackle than they got out of the group against the Bengals.
Other than Sow, the Patriots had perfect attendance during the media availability portion of practice. The first injury report of the week will indicate whether anyone was limited instead of being a full participant.
Eight players wore black jerseys during practice, as opposed to white (offense) or nautical blue (defense). These were the practice players of the week, who head coach Jerod Mayo made a point to shout out during his Wednesday press conference. However, Mayo said he'd only do it when the team wins. Here are the newest practice players of the week:
WR Kayshon Boutte
LB Joe Giles-Harris
LB Curtis Jacobs
DT Eric Johnson
DE Ochaun Mathis
QB Joe Milton
S A.J. Thomas
TE Mitchell Wilcox
