Felger: 2-0 is on the table for the Patriots
The New England Patriots get their 2024 season underway on Sunday in Cincinnati against the Bengals. Though the Patriots are heavy underdogs, the Bengals could be without their top two receivers. Due to that, Felger thinks a 2-0 start for the Patriots is on the table.
Felger: Meanwhile, Tee Higgins is straining his hamstring and Ja’Marr Chase doesn’t have a contract and I don’t know, maybe there’s a path there this week.
Mazz: Sure. The other team can always lose.
Felger: They could use it, the Patriots. And I’m pulling for them. Like I would love to have them change the narrative a little bit. And I said this last night, if they can steal one here for whatever reason, Cincinnati’s not ready or they start slow or the Cleveland coaches here have their numbers somehow, Burrow is coming off the wrist, the Pats are in shape….whatever, they steal one. Like 2-0 is on the table. I don’t have the Patriots winning very many games but the home Seattle game is one of them. Like, that sort of flips the narrative.
Mazz: Yeah, that would be more winnable than many of the others.
Jim Murray: If they got out of September at 2-2, it’s a miracle.
Felger: I’m just starting a day at a time. A week at a time, I’m thinking, steal this one and then you have a kind of winnable game. There’s not many on your schedule.
