Marc Bertrand: No shot Joe Milton wins the Patriots QB job
On Friday’s edition of Zolak & Bertrand, Marc “Beetle” Bertrand completely shutdown Colin Cowherd’s take about Joe Milton being the starting quarterback for the Patriots.
He has a non-existent chance…
Marc Bertrand:
Colin you got bad info, dude. Bad info. No shot, Joe Milton is going to win this gig. Joe Milton is in fourth place. Bailey Zappe has had a better camp than Joe Milton and to me, if I were making the roster today, Joe Milton is not on the roster. He’s either going to the practice squad or I’m letting him go.
Phil Perry:
I disagree with you there. I’d call him the third best. He can do things that Billy Zappe can’t do, which I think especially in this offense, are going to limit Bailey Zappe. In the completely unrealistic world in which Joe Milton is on the field for the Patriots in 2024, he would be better suited to handle some of those things. The down the field shots that the Browns deployed very, very frequently last year. The on the run stuff, the bootleg stuff, that’ just not Bailey Zappe’s game. He’s a distributor. He’s a point guard. Spread it out, throw it short. That’s really not what this offense was last year in Cleveland, and I don’t think it’s what it’s going to be this year in New England. So, we disagree there, but you’re right about the odds of Joe Milton actually winning the job are non-existent.
Marc Bertrand:
I hope they give him a nice Clorox wipe or something to get the pooh off the wall and that he jusst threw at it with that take.
