Felger & Mazz: “Pathetic” that Kendrick Perkins wasn’t invited to parade
The Boston Celtics had members of the 2008 NBA Championship team in the parade last Friday for the 2024 champions. However, Kendrick Perkins was not there and it seems like he was not invited to be a part of the parade. On Monday’s Felger and Mazz, the guys give their thoughts on Perkins being left out.
Felger: That was Brian Scalabrine and Frank Isola, who do a SiriusXM NBA channel show on the NBA station. They do a morning show. That was them talking about former Celtics players coming back for the parade on Friday, and apparently according to Scal, Kendrick Perkins was not invited. He was told to stay away or whatever the case may be. You’re shaking your head, Mazz?
Mazz: That’s pathetic.
Felger: I think it’s embarrassing.
Jim Murray: Yeah, they had a handful of the ‘08 Championship team members on one of the duck boats, but yeah, Perk is now “persona non grata”.
Mazz: So I mean that’s pathetic. That is pathetic.
Felger: It makes you hard to like. You know, it’s just this is what I say about the Celtics and their fans all the time, it’s like kids table stuff. It’s like “you said mean things about us. You can’t come”. I mean, really? So it’s just hard to get behind.

Felger: You know I think he’s fabulously entertaining as an NBA analyst. I think he’s one of the few guys that is critical of everyone, tells it like it is, to the point where he became very critical of his former team up and down from individual players to the coach, Joe Mazzulla. All of it. And you apparently don’t want to hear it….so he’s out! Not invited to the parade. Could you be a bigger baby?
Mazz: Oh my gosh, I’ve got to call that borderline unprecedented.
