Zolak & Bertrand: On the floor, Celtics-Mavericks is about Luka Dončić
On Friday’s edition of Zolak & Bertrand, the crew highlighted why Luka Dončić is what Celtics’ fans should be worrying about in the NBA Finals.
Dončić is about to become a villain in Boston…
Marc Bertrand:
We’re now on to what I think is the Luka Doncic led Dallas Mavericks. This is not about Kyrie on the floor. This is about Luca. You saw it last night, 20 points in the first quarter. They were leading by 29 at halftime, he went out there and he took it. He came out and looked like a guy who was pissed about losing the previous game.
Scott Zolak:
Possessed.
Marc Bertrand:
That’s what that was last night. That was a response. He was mad about not completing the sweep in four games. You saw a mad player out there.
Scott Zolak:
That’s like the intensity that we talk about. I’m not taking it back to Brown and Tatum again. But that edge man, that killer instinct, that’s what you want. That’s what you want in your superstar.
Marc Bertrand:
He’s a complete a-hole. And we’re going to hate him so much by the end of this series.
Scott Zolak:
Oh, my God, he’s so doughy.
Marc Bertrand:
We’re going to grow to hate this man. Sports hate, not real hate, we’re talking sports. A sports villain is what he’s about to become in this city. We’ll revisit all of it with Kyrie. But in terms of what you’re going to see on the floor and what is going to annoy you and piss you off and frustrate you and a guy who is going to get his to some degree, it’s going to be Luca. That’s who it’s going to be.
Scott Zolak:
He’s bringing in a whole different type of fanbase too. This is for the husky kids.
