Another Brady vs Belichick debate
The debate still lives on. Was the reason for the Patriots success Tom Brady or Bill Belichick. Despite what the Dynasty documentary may have insinuated, the truth is the NFL is currently without either of them. Two of the league’s biggest stars over the last 25 years have been in the news of late. Tom Brady in a recent interview kept the door open of a potential comeback. Many sports books created odds if Brady would un-retire and event had odds on what team he would play for. As I mentioned in a previous story, the draft is a week away and we are still talking about Tom Brady coming back to the NFL.
Belichick’s name came up in a recent article by Seth Wickersham indicating that Patriots owner Robert Kraft was a big reason why Atlanta passed on the now 73 years old coach. According to a source who spoke to someone close to Belichick & Kraft, he called Falcons owner Arthur Blank during their coaching search to warn him not to trust Belichick. “Kraft found Bill to be extremely difficult and obstinate and kind of stubborn and, in the end, not worthy of his trust. And also very, very, very arrogant.”Belichick was blindsided by Atlanta when they hired Raheem Morris. It was also mentioned that the future hall of fame coach was not among the top three choices for any of the falcons too decision-makers during their coaching search.
Here we are a week before the NFL draft and still talking about Brady and Belichick. Which brings up the question, who are we more likely to see in 2024? I believe the answer is Brady but what if a team moves on from their coach? One thing is for sure. We want more when it comes to Brady & Belichick in the NFL.
