There was not a soul in Boston happier to see the 2024 trade deadline pass than Bruins winger Jake DeBrusk.
In the final year of his contract with the Bruins, and staring down a summertime jump into the unknown of unrestricted free agency, rumors once again surrounded DeBrusk ahead of the deadline. DeBrusk himself admitted that it was enough to make him 'worry' about his future with the organization that drafted him with the No. 14 overall pick in the 2015 NHL Draft.
But once the deadline passed and those worries subsided, DeBrusk put his own game into overdrive, earning him this week's nod as The Peter School's Hardest Working Player of the Week.
In what was a two-game week for No. 74, DeBrusk paced the Bruins with two goals and three points, with his headliner coming by way of his overtime marker in the Black and Gold's victory in Montreal last Thursday.
DeBrusk's goal, which came just 25 seconds into the extra session, was also good for the sixth-fastest overtime goal in B's history.

DeBrusk also made sure to end this week with a bang, too, as he absolutely stuffed the stat sheet in the B's 6-5 win over the Flyers at TD Garden last Saturday.
Deployed for 16:45 of time on ice, DeBrusk scored a goal and added an assist, but also chimed in with two blocked shots and three hits, and finished with four shots on goal for Boston.
The Hardest Working Player of the Week is sponsored by The Peterson School. The Peterson School is now enrolling for their spring semester in Woburn, Westwood, Worcester, and Haverhill. To learn more, visit petersonschool.com.
