Felger: Joe Mazzulla’s shot block attempt was “JV”
During the Boston Celtics 127-112 victory over the Phoenix Suns on Thursday night at TD Garden, Celtics head coach, Joe Mazzulla, ran onto the court and attempted to block a 3-point attempt by Royce O’Neal after the whistle had blown. Celtics fans seem to love what he did, but on Friday’s Felger and Mazz, Felger talked about how if the roles were reversed, Celtics fans would be mad at the opposing teams coach.
Was Mazzulla’s shot block attempt “JV”?Ā
Felger: Robbie in the car on the Joe Mazzulla block attempt. Let me guess, Robbie, you liked it?
Robbie in the car: I did. And I think what Gaspar said was kind of a cop out because saying that he should get fined or all this stuff, you know, I kind of look at it like storming the court, like, anybody can get hurt that way but it happens and it’s awesome when it does. So you know, it kind of gives something for the fans. And, you know, it’s just one of those things that like kind of gives something to the players as well. It’s like, “hey, he’s fighting for us”. So I like it a lot.
Felger: You like it a lot because you’re a “green teamer”. If Mike Malone, that hardo red ass coach in Denver, if he jumped out on Jayson Tatum, can you imagine. Can you imagine the moral outrage. Could you imagine what like Scal, Drew Carter, and freaking Grande and these guys, can you imagine the outcry if one of these opposing coaches jumped out on one of your guys? You’d be losing your mind.
Jim Murray: The floor is for the players. I don’t care if it’s after the whistle.
Felger: It’s J.V. I would like to hear you people (green teamers), if Erik Spoelstra did that.
