DeVante Parker wasn’t without a team for long. Just about 24 hours after an initial report the Patriots planned on releasing him, Parker has already found his next team.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Parker has reached an agreement with the Philadelphia Eagles on a one-year, $4.69 fully guaranteed contract. The Patriots will be on the hook for $3.49 million of that deal.

Neither move – Parker’s release or signing – will become official until the new league year begins on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. ET. However, the Patriots granted Parker the right to speak with other teams after informing him of his pending release, according to Schefter.
Parker, 31, was released by the Patriots one year after signing a three-year, $33 million contract extension with the team. Last year Parker played in 13 games, catching 33 passes for 394 yards. It was his first pro season without a touchdown.
In Philly Parker joins a team already loaded at the wide receiver position. Their depth chart is highlighted by A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith.
Meanwhile the Patriots continue trying to upgrade their own wide receiver room. The team has reportedly been in talks with Calvin Ridley, who is also a candidate to return to the Jacksonville Jaguars. For more on Ridley and all things NFL free agency, check out our NFL Free Agency Tracker below…
