Rob "Hardy" Poole says he no longer "loves anything anymore" after witnessing the Detroit Lions' brutal collapse to the San Francisco 49ers, 34-31, in the NFC championship.

This morning on the Toucher & Hardy radio program, the guys delved into the Detroit Lions' losing to the San Francisco 49ers NFC championship game, missing their shot to advance to Super Bowl LVIII. The Lions kicked off with an impressive first half, sparking hope among fans. However, things took a turn for the worse in the second half, marked by a series of blunders that ultimately cost them the game.

WATCH HERE:

The guys got into the specifics of pivotal plays, such as a fourth-down call that had fans on the edge of their seats, the bobbled interception that unexpectedly turned into a big gain for the 49ers, a fumbled handoff, a dropped pass, and missed opportunities on special teams. The laundry list of self-inflicted wounds left fans disheartened as they watched their team crumble in crucial moments.

Hardy, a die-hard Lions fan, didn't hold back his frustration and disappointment, expressing how the loss represented a missed opportunity to make it to the Super Bowl. The guys openly critiqued the coach's decisions, particularly questioning the reliance on gut feelings over analytics, especially during critical plays like going for it on fourth down.

Fred Toucher: We usually don't start with sports, but Hardy is very upset.

Hardy: And we make it a point not to, you know, talk too much about sports, you know, at least in the first segment.

Fred Toucher: No, I think the first people seem to love the first segment. Yeah. The first segment is generally just general.

Hardy: Well, okay. That's great. I'm glad that they love it. I don't love anything anymore. I no longer love things, and nothing will ever be good again. And we're having a discussion before we come on and, you know, trying to save it for the year. But trust me, you too. When I say that was it. It's all over. They won't get back. They won't get back to an NFC Championship game. That was it. That was their shot. And you can't blame the refs this time. And you can't look and say, oh, they got jobbed because the league really wanted a Cowboys. No, no. They peed and pooped down their own legs. And their idiot coach turned back into an idiot. And they had one receiver in particular. We just couldn't catch a football that was thrown to them, and they completely gave the game away. They did nothing worthy of mention in the second half, and that was it. And now it's over. And now it's done. Okay. And instead, we will excuse me, Fred. Rick, whatever your name is now, we are left with a Super Bowl that I couldn't care less about. I don't care about watching the Chiefs again. I don't care about the San Francisco 49ers and Brock Purdy. The season is over now. We've got two weeks of no football. And then the carrot dangling at the end of it is a game that I don't care about. And I defy you to tell me that you're really compelled to watch the 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl. Who cares? Anybody who came on board and was rooting for the Lions with me, every time I'm like, come on board. It's fine. It's good, it's fun. And yes, even I got sucked in a little bit at halftime, and I thought maybe they might actually win this game. But in my heart of hearts, I knew it wasn't over. And of course, it wasn't over. And they lost. And now everything sucks again. And I don't have anything. I have a wife and kids, but so what?
