Phil Perry: Where does Jonathan Kraft stand on Belichick?
Phil Perry of NBC Sports Boston joins Zolak & Bertrand in studio to discuss how he believes things will play out with Patriots head coach Bill Belichick when he meets with Robert and Jonathan Kraft following their season finale against the Jets:
“Who is Robert Kraft talking to when he makes the this big decision?
“Obviously, we’re all wishing we could be flies on the wall for that conversation between Robert Kraft and Bill Belichick. I just think whether he wins the game, loses the game, tanks it for the pick, doesn’t tank it for the pick, I think his fate is decided. The the one thing that people who know Robert have told me is that because he is a sentimental person, because people around him would say one of his strengths is his humanity. So could he be won over? Could he be convinced one way or the other in that meeting with Bill Belichick is the big question. You do have to remember, though, that Jonathan Kraft is going to be in this meeting to him. And one person who knows both said that he’s a different beast. And I don’t know if Jonathan Kraft could be convinced.
“And if we’re thinking that the door is just open that little smidgen for Robert Kraft to move the other way. Is it is it open half as much for Jonathan Kraft. Is it open a quarter as much or is it completely closed?
“You know, people are wondering who is Robert Kraft talking to when he makes the this big decision. Who could he be talking to? Who is he conferring with? It’s Jonathan. He’s talking to Jonathan.”
