Wide receiver a late addition to the Patriots’ injury report
The New England Patriots will have their wide receiver depth tested this week against the Washington Commanders due to multiple injuries at the position. After placing Kendrick Bourne on IR earlier this week there are still two players on this week’s injury report, including a late addition.
Second-year wideout Tyquan Thornton (foot) was added to the Patriots’ final injury report of the week on Friday, listed as limited and questionable for Sunday. The timing suggests he suffered the injury during practice.

Thornton is expected to help fill the snaps vacated by Bourne and DeVante Parker (concussion), who was ruled out on Friday. With Thornton now dealing with a foot injury, the Patriots’ healthy receivers are JuJu Smith-Schuster, Demario Douglas, Jalen Reagor, and Kayshon Boutte. While Boutte has been inactive the last seven weeks, Bill Belichick suggested on Friday he may be active this week.
In addition to Parker, offensive tackle Calvin Anderson (illness) was ruled out for the game. Anderson was inactive last week as well.
UPDATE: According to ESPN’s Mike Reiss, the Patriots have placed Anderson on IR.
Along with Thornton, the Patriots have nine other players that are questionable. That group includes offensive tackle Trent Brown (ankle/knee), defensive lineman Christian Barmore (knee), linebacker Josh Uche (ankle/toe), and cornerback Jonathan Jones (knee).
Meanwhile, cornerback Myles Bryant (chest) was removed from the injury report. He was limited on Wednesday and Thursday.
As for Washington, wide receiver Curtis Samuel (toe) and guard Ricky Stromberg (knee) were ruled out for the game. Safety Percy Butler (calf) is the only other player listed – he’s questionable.
