When it comes to the quarterback position, Bill Belichick is standing by his offensive coordinator. At least, for now.

“Yeah, we’re not making any changes,” Belichick replied.
While that may be the Patriots’ plan right now, it’s been reported things could change between now and Sunday’s 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff. According to Jeff Howe of The Athletic, “while Jones is expected to start Sunday against the Raiders, a league source said this is still a very important week of practice for the third-year quarterback as Belichick evaluates every position on the roster.”
After showing some encouraging signs to start the season, Jones has struggled massively in the team’s last two games – resulting in him being pulled early from both. Against the Cowboys and Saints he completed 55.8 percent of his passes (24-for-43) for 260 yards, with no touchdowns and four interceptions, plus a fumble lost. His 35.0 quarterback rating over the last two weeks was the worst in the league among qualified passers.

Of the 64 players currently under contract, 22 are on expiring deals. That includes 13 starters or heavily-involved rotational players.
Which players make the most sense for the Patriots to move? Who would bring back the best return? Let’s take a look…
