Bill Belichick needs to stop defending JuJu Smith-Schuster
Even after another ugly performance for JuJu Smith-Schuster, Bill Belichick continues to defend him and Beetle just can’t take it anymore.
Try and name a positive thing he has done…
Marc Bertrand: I’ll tell you, I spit out this ice coffee before I even bought it this morning. Hearing Bill (Belichick) say this about JuJu Smith-Schuster. “He’ss been great. I love working with him. Tough kid. Really smart. He does a lot of things well.” All right, let’s start with this… name one. What’s the one thing he’s doing well for them right now?
Scott Zolak: I thought he helped turn the game for the Jets a little bit on that late hit. The Jets were dead in the water. That late hit on the sideline sort of swung some momentum, got the defense cranked up, got the crowd which whoever remained back into the game.
Marc Bertrand: Really smart. Bill, did you see the game? Were you there? I saw you on the sideline on TV. You were there, right? You got a front row seat to that yesterday. That was moronic. That was stupid. They called it on the CBS broadcast, too. Romo’s like, what’s this guy doing? He’s going to give them life.
Scott Zolak: He’s done that in Pittsburgh couple times defending AB (Antonio Brown) like that. Those Cincinatti games, where he’s just leveling guys late.
Marc Bertrand: That’s not being a smart football player. That’s not at all being a smart player. It also isn’t tough to do that either. No toughness in that, taking a shot at a guy from the from the other direction. What are you talking about? I’m sorry, I was all for this signing. I was so high on this signing. Like they signed a guy with a bad knee and they knew it. And it’s unforgivable because this guy doesn’t look like he’s going to be a very productive player for this team. God, I hate this hit. I hate that type of hit.
Scott Zolak: Do you think Bill looks at that and says, the heads in the front? But the problem is the defensive player is going back towards the line of scrimmage and that’s the rule for for a defensive player going back towards the line of scrimmage. You can’t come back and crack him. You can’t. That’s the rule. It’s a hard rule.
Marc Bertrand: There’s no ambiguity in that rule. None. And not only that, when was it like re-emphasized, like three years ago when they put this big emphasis on it? 3 or 4 years ago? They never miss that call.
Scott Zolak: No.
