Massachusetts Bakery Named One of America’s Best
Massachusetts is not at a loss for great, tasty bakeries. We seriously have so many delicious, locally-owned bakeries in this state, and one of my favorite things to do it try a local bakery when I’m in a new city. That said, it shouldn’t be a big surprise that a Massachusetts bakery has been named one of America’s best.
The study comes from Restaurantclicks.com, who had the awesome task of trying different bakeries around America. They picked just 12 to highlight, and one of those was in Massachusetts. “Beautiful baked goods have a way of making your day just a bit brighter,” they state. “If you are looking for the perfect baked good, the ideal place to start is at one of the country’s best bakeries?”
The bakeries they highlighted are in California, Texas, Oregon, Maine, Massachusetts, Tennessee, New York, the Carolinas and Michigan. That’s a small selection of states, so it’s great to see Massachusetts make the cut, in my opinion.
So, which Massachusetts bakery was named one of America’s best in the list? Flour Bakery + Cafe. They actually have multiple locations throughout the Boston, Massachusetts, and Cambridge, Massachusetts areas. According to Restaurant Clicks, Joanne Chang and her husband, Christopher Myers, founded the bakery in 2000. “The bakery offers several loaves of bread, cakes, cookies, tarts, and breakfast pastries,” they add. “If you live in the Boston area, the bakery allows you to schedule your items for pickup.” Also, if you don’t live in Boston or near one of their bakeries, that’s okay, because you can order baked goods and merchandise if you live in the U.S. How convenient is that? These Massachusetts Chains Actually Have Great Bagels
#4 Gunther Tooties
There are five Gunther Tooties locations from Foxborough down to the South Shore. The owner of this chain worked in a New York bagel shop before taking over the first location in Pembroke. Moreover, a few of their spots offer drive-through. The “French Toast” bagel listed under the New York Style portion of the menu is always hard to resist.
#3 The Bagel Dudes
Sometimes known as “The Bagel Shop” (like their Chatham location), this is a family operated chain business that has a significant presence in eastern Massachusetts and in Florida. Everything is baked fresh onsite. If you’ve ever wondered what Chocolate Chip Cookie flavored Iced Coffee takes like, they have 22 different variations here. And it tastes as good as it sounds.

#2 Cafe Fresh Bagel
There are five Cafe Fresh Bagel restaurants all within about 30 minutes of each other. This is my bagel breakfast sandwich spot. I keep it simple when I go there, with a classic: bacon, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel.
