Felger & Mazz: Thoughts on Chaim Bloom and the MLB trade deadline
As we get closer to the MLB trade deadline there’s still some uncertainty as to whether the Boston Red Sox will be buyers or sellers. On Monday’s Felger and Mazz, the guys discussed Chaim Bloom and his approach leading into the trade deadline.
What will Chaim Bloom do at trade deadline?
Jim Murray: Well I hate Chaim Bloom and the ownership and the more they lose the closer they are to maybe firing him and selling the team. That’s what I want. But this is what’s moot, Mike. You’re yelling into the void because you know who doesn’t believe in the team the most? The dork running them. This is a nuisance to him that they’re winning.
Mazz: This is true.
Felger: It’s so true. Go ahead.
Jim Murray: This is why, you know, if you want to be frustrated because you have invested, I know, J-Stew’s been all in and he’s yelling on Twitter over the last 72 hours mentioning the Red Sox, mentioning Sam Kennedy “buy, buy, buy. I believe in this team” he’s also yelling into the void, too, because them winning is a nuisance! It’s a problem! It’s not part of Chaim Bloom’s plan! You know, Gasper has talked about it, like Bloom has 2025 in mind, “that’s when all the seeds will bloom literally and figuretively because they’re my players and this is what it all comes to fruition”. No, you dork because if you believe in this team and people are actually back into them, you should invest in them now. But this is a problem for him. So it’s moot. Doesn’t matter what I feel about him, them, how I’m rooting for them to lose, what Shaughnessy thinks…Chaim Bloom doesn’t want them to win. He’s going to half ass this thing, make it look like he actually applied himself, just like last year, it probably going to piss the players off, and we’ll get to the Rafael Devers thing he did with Sean McAdam, because the players actually believe in themselves too and that’s a problem for Chaim Bloom. And that makes it easier for me to root against them. Like what a-holes! Because if you believe in them and they’re going to actually put out a decent enough product, which I will even admit they’ve been for the last month and a half, you should invest in them. But that’s a problem for Bloom, so eff-them.

Mazz: He can’t bring himself to do it.
Felger: Oh, no. And I’m not convinced in 2025 he’ll bring himself to do so.
Mazz: He can’t bring himself to do it. To actually make a move geared toward the present causes him to like break into convulsions.
Felger: He hates the Major League team, hates it.
Mazz: It’s like Belichick on quarterbacks.
