Is Chiefs-Bengals the premier rivalry in the NFL right now?
Beetle and Hardy weigh in on whether Chiefs-Bengals is currently the NFL’s premier rivalry.
Beetle: Is it the top rivalry currently in the NFL? Is this the best rivalry we have in the sport? It’s hard to argue otherwise. I can’t think of a better one. And I bring it up because Patrick Mahomes and the new quarterback documentary on Netflix has a scene that I won’t totally ruin, but I can tell you that he feels that that is a rivalry. He he has certain emotions and feelings about the Bengals that I don’t think he has four other teams that I don’t think he has for Buffalo. He looks at the Bengals as the team that they get to go out and beat.
Hardy: And they’ve made it kind of persona, at least they have in Cincinnati. You know, they like to make it personal. They like to take things personally and I appreciate that about them. Good. You know, you should take it personally. Otherwise, what are you doing? What are you rooting for? So there’s that. There’s a personal ill will toward each other’s teams. And Kansas City rightly has a superiority complex right now. I mean, how could you not with what that team has and what that team has done for a while? But I like that there’s some real dislike going on between certainly the fans, but the players. You can sense it. I can’t think of a better one.
Other rivalries mentioned in the discussion included: Niners-Seahawks, Cowboys-Eagles, and Ravens-Steelers. You can hear the full discussion below:
