Zo And Beetle: Something is “fishy” about Chris Sale’s injury
On Wednesday’s edition of Zolak & Bertrand, Zo and Beetle felt like there was something “fishy” going on with Chris Sale’s bicycle crash incident. Especially after taking a deep dive into his injury history.
Beetle: I don’t care that he (Chris Sale) was on a bike, like if it were any other player who was riding a bike, whatever. You just had surgery three weeks ago. Stay off your bike for a few more days, would ya? You just had surgery. I know you’re throwing the baseball, but please.
Hardy: Well, how’s he supposed to get his sandwich?
Zo: How are you supposed to get that to the sandwich shop?
Beetle: If it were anybody else, I don’t think it’s a big issue that a player’s riding a bicycle. Because you know why? Most human beings, even if they do fall off a bicycle, they don’t shatter their wrist. I mean, that’s part of it okay.
Zo:: It doesn’t smell right.
Beetle: But it doesn’t smell right because he’s had other weird incidents in the past, the hospitalization, the personal non-medical thing. Was that a thing? The injury when he broke his foot with the White Sox and it was falling off the back of a truck. I mean, there’s more to this than just a random bike incident. If this were Xander Bogaerts, okay, that fell off his bike yesterday or over the weekend. There’s no people making fun of Xander Bogaerts for having fallen off a bike. People would say, wow, that sucks. Oh, that stinks. That’s it. That’s where it would end.
Zo: I don’t buy it.
Beetle: It’s fishy. He may have been planning to pitch this year, but I don’t believe that the team would have let him.
