Scott Zolak: “I’m a little worried” about Patriots offense
On Tuesday’s edition of Zolak & Bertrand, Scott Zolak admitted he’s starting to get worried about the Patriots offense after another tough day at training camp.
Zo: If the case is that, from what everybody says, now I don’t know that I haven’t talked to anybody, that they are simplifying things. You’re going from a difficult offense, a difficult scheme, and you’re making it easier and they still can’t grasp it, that’s holy hell mode for me. We’re going to make it easy for you guys. You only gotta block one guy, you block that guy, instead of chip this guy, hold this guy till this guy gets there. Let’s move up. You got to cut this guy down. Now it’s simple. It’s really easy, and you still can’t get it. We’re not day one, right? How many freakin walkthroughs you have? It’s walk through central here. They didn’t hit anybody. You got to hit Thursday night.
I’ve been around camps my whole life. The camps that are walk through type camps or veteran team camps that have experience, that know what they’re doing, that you get out there and you sort of go through the motions because you know what? We got this. We’re just, we’re brushing things up. We’re sharpening the pencil, so to speak. The scary thing is teams that are bad tend to think a lot, and that seems to be what’s going on out here. They’re guessing, they’re thinking they’re not playing, they’re not reacting. That’s not good. And man that’s a scary thing right now, you know, with a game two days away. If this is what’s going on against air, what the hell’s going to happen Thursday? I gotta call that game. I’m a little worried.
