James Stewart and Mike Riley talk with the founder, co-owner, president, and CEO of the All Elite Wrestling, Tony Khan about Dynamite and Rampage being in Worcester on Wednesday night, ROH and AEW having a full weekend, status updates on CM Punk, Kenny Omega and MJF and how he uses metrics to move wrestlers up and down the card.
Mike Riley: AEW Dynamite debuts in Worcester for the first time ever this Wednesday night. Tickets still available, AEWTIX.com Brian Danielson returning this week in Worcester on Dynamite. Sounds like C.M. Punk is also on the mend, too. Do you anticipate both of them to be full time ACW and or maybe a match in Ring of Honor in the near future?
Tony Khan: I think that with Bryan Danielson coming back this week on Wednesday night dynamite in Worcester and looking forward to CM punk hopefully returning very soon that AEW is going to have the strongest roster we’ve had in a really long time. I’m very focused on AEW and we, of course, we just had a great show with ROH, but I think we’ve got a great roster in ROH right now. It would be great to have some of those legends come back and maybe that could be an annual event even.
James Stewart: Speaking of comebacks, Kenny Omega, do you have an update on Kenny Omega and a possible return date for him?
Tony Khan: I do not. Kenny Omega is returning from a variety of injuries. I can’t say exactly when he’ll be back, but that’s another huge star and another former world champion that hopefully will be back with us really soon.
James Stewart: Here’s the question that I know I’m going to get a no comment on, but I’m going to ask it anyway. Do you have a status update on MJF and AEW?
Tony Khan: No, I don’t. I’m not going to comment on that. But I do appreciate you asking and I understand why you’re asking.
James Stewart: He did a an unbelievable promo in Los Angeles and nothing has been said or commented on since. And the question is, is what’s wrestling? What’s wrestling story and what’s real? And the no comment makes us all wonder.
