Alex in Medway called into Felger and Mazz today and suggested that the Red Sox acquire Washington Nationals Outfielder Juan Soto. Tony Massarotti, laughed Alex off the air.

TRANSCRIPT

Mazz: I like the Red Sox better when they were trying to be the Yankees. Right. It’s a good point.

Felger: Alex, in Midway. Go ahead, Alex.

Caller Alex: Um, so I. Soto just, you know, on assignment in Nashville, how would you think that the Red Sox could get so and for like what cost?

Felger: I mean, on what planet?

Mazz: (Laughs) That’s funny. No, that’s funny. He just turned down $440 million from the Nationals, and they’re going to trade for him? (laughs) That’s a good one. That’s funny. And then when he gets here, what are they going to do? Trade him? (laughs some more)

Felger: Offer him $14 million a year over three years?

Mazz: Oh, that’s rich. That is a good one.

Jim Murry: If they aren’t gonna pay their own guys, they’re not paying that guy.

Mazz: Wow. (laughs) Oh, that is great. Sorry. I’m sorry.
