The Patriots are already getting the pieces in place for their 2022 offseason. On Monday, the team announced that six players have been signed to futures contracts.

These deals allow teams to commit to players before the roster limit expands to 90 players in March. They’re usually minimal money, and can only be given to players who weren’t under contract at the end of the previous regular season.

It’s common for teams to use futures contracts to retain practice squad players. That’s exactly the case here, with all six signings spending at least part of the 2021 season with the Patriots. Here’s a look at whom they’re bringing back…
