Andy Lyons/Getty ImagesPatriots head coach Bill Belichick is famously a man of few words, especially after a loss. Following Saturday's 27-17 defeat at the hands of the Indianapolis Colts, he certainly wasn't conversational.
"Obviously we didn't do anything well enough to win. We didn't play well and we didn't coach well," Belichick said in his opening statement. "Too many penalties, fumbles, interceptions, over 200 yards rushing. We played from behind the whole game, so just nothing really good enough."
Despite fielding 13 more questions, Belichick didn't offer much beyond that. In fact, just about every answer was some form of admittance that his team put together an all around poor effort. In fact, answers to eight of those 13 questions - most of which were one sentence - involved Belichick saying the Patriots either "didn't play," "didn't coach," or "didn't do" well enough in Indy.
What did Belichick learn from his team Saturday night? "We didn’t play well tonight. I don’t know," he solemnly. "We didn’t play well tonight. It is what it is. We didn’t coach well. We didn’t do anything well."
