For the third straight day, the Boston Bruins have added players to their growing COVID list, with three more players and a member of the team’s staff added to the list Thursday morning.
Thursday’s additions include forwards Anton Blidh and Trent Frederic, along with goaltender Jeremy Swayman. That brings Boston’s total up to six players — Patrice Bergeron, Brad Marchand, Craig Smith, Blidh, Frederic, and Swayman — as well as that unnamed team staffer.
This latest outbreak comes with the Bruins on Long Island ahead of a Thursday night head-to-head with the Islanders.
The Bruins have already recalled forward Jesper Froden and goaltender Kyle Keyser from Providence, and may need to make more calls to Providence before the day is through based on how the last few days have gone for them.
