The good news rolls on for the Bruins
More good news for the Bruins following a strong Western Canada road swing.

Following a road trip that saw the undermanned Bruins grab five of a possible six points in Western Canada, the Bruins appear set to get head coach Bruce Cassidy back on the ice and behind the bench.
In the NHL's COVID protocol since Nov. 30, the B's weekly schedule sent out to the media noted that Cassidy is set to speak with the media following all of the B's on-ice sessions this week, beginning with Monday's post-practice chat at Warrior Ice Arena. For the last week plus, that schedule has featured assistant coach Joe Sacco in that role.
It's entirely possible (if not plausible) that Cassidy, who is vaccinated, has been in the clear for some time, as Sacco noted last week that Cassidy was doing much better and that his symptoms had dissipated. But the positive test ruled Cassidy out from joining the team in Canada, as those with a positive test in the last 15 days are not allowed to cross the Canadian border.
With Cassidy unavailable and Sacco taking on head coaching duties for the first time since 2013 with the Avalanche for the last six games, the Bruins went 3-1-2 and enter Tuesday's meeting with Vegas riding a five-game point streak.
Cassidy wasn't completely out of sight, out of mind for the Bruins during his COVID-related absence, as Cassidy and Sacco talked daily, with Cassidy sending Sacco some video along the way.
