The Patriots didn’t rule out any players ahead of their upcoming Thursday night game against the Atlanta Falcons. However, they have placed one player on IR.
13 players are listed on the final injury report of the week for the Patriots, all questionable. That includes defensive end Deatrich Wise, who missed Tuesday’s practice due to a non-COVID illness. The other 12 players are running back Brandon Bolden (hip), wide receiver N’Keal Harry (knee), tight end Jonnu Smith (shoulder), guard Shaq Mason (abdomen), tackle Trent Brown (calf), linebackers Ja’Whaun Bentley (ribs), Dont’a Hightower (ankle), and Kyle Van Noy (groin), cornerback Jalen Mills (forearm), safety Kyle Dugger (ankle), kicker Nick Folk (left knee), and punter Jake Bailey (right knee).
Three players were also removed from the report on Wednesday. Running back Damien Harris and wide receiver/kick returner Gunner Olszewski have both been cleared to play after spending the last week and a half in concussion protocol. That’s an encouraging sign that both could be available Thursday night.
Linebacker Josh Uche (ankle) was also removed from the injury report and placed on injured reserve. That means he’ll miss at least three weeks. To fill his roster spot, the Patriots activated edge rusher Chase Winovich off IR – Winovich last played Week 6 against Dallas.
In one other roster move, the Patriots waived running back/wide receiver Malcolm Perry from IR. Perry signed with the team after final roster cuts and was placed on IR before Week 1.
Meanwhile in Atlanta, running back/wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson’s (ankle) status remains unclear. He is listed as ‘questionable,’ and head coach Arthur Smith told reporters he’ll likely be a game time decisions. Safety Jaylinn Hawkins (ankle) is questionable as well.
The Falcons did rule out three players for the game – tight end Hayden Hurst (ankle), linebacker Daren Bates (groin) and cornerback Kendall Sheffield (hamstring).
