Retired Patriots safety Patrick Chung reportedly arrested for domestic violence in Massachusetts
Former New England Patriots safety Patrick Chung was reportedly arrested on Monday and charged with assault battery and vandalism.

Billie Weiss/Getty ImagesAccording to Jeff Howe of The Athletic, former Patriots safety Patrick Chung was arrested on Monday and charged with assault and battery of a family/household member and vandalizing property. Chung will be arraigned Tuesday in Quincy. Per the Boston Globe, the incident occurred in Milton.
Chung was previously charged with cocaine possession in New Hampshire in Aug. 2019. Those charges were resolved in Jan. 2020, with one of the conditions being Chung did not face legal issues again for two years.
The Patriots drafted Patrick Chung in 2009. He went on to play 10 of his 11 NFL seasons in New England. Chung opted out of the 2020 season due to concerns over COVID, and announced his retirement back in March.
UPDATE: Chung was released with a $10,000 personal surety after pleading not guilty. A court date has been set for Jan. 7.
