Over three months since Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots made him the top player from their 2021 NFL Draft class, quarterback Mac Jones was able to put on his New England jersey — and with a new, more quarterback-appropriate number — and compete in his first game as a Patriot.

Following Cam Newton after the veteran played three series, Jones played two-plus quarters, and finished the night with a 13-for-19 mark in the passing game, along with 87 passing yards, and two rushes (zero yards).
