Patriots activate one tight end, place another on injured reserve
Saturday was an off day for Patriots training camp, but the team was still active, making a series of roster moves. Tight end Devin Asiasi was activated off COVID-IR, while fellow tight end Dalton Keene was placed on the regular injured reserve. In addition, linebacker Cassh Maluia was signed after linebacker Raekwon McMillan was placed on IR due to a torn ACL.
Asiasi was first placed on COVID-IR last week, before the start of training camp. Based on social media posts, he returned to the Boston area earlier this week.
Keene was placed on PUP before the season began. The 2020 draft pick missed time last year due to a neck injury.
McMillan suffered the torn ACL on Tuesday during the Patriots’ first padded practice. He hadn’t practiced since.
Maluia was a sixth round pick by the Patriots in 2020. He split time between the active roster and practice squad last year, appearing in nine games. He was released by the team back in March.
