Bill Belichick addresses Patriots vaccination status
As the Patriots prepare for their first training camp practice, they do so with a ‘mostly’ vaccinated roster. Bill Belichick updated media on the team’s current vaccination status during a Tuesday morning press conference.
“Quite a few of them. Most of them, probably,” Belichick noted when asked how many players had completed the vaccination process. “Whatever the protocols are, we’ll follow them. Those are individual decisions. There are categories for everybody.”
Earlier this week, we learned co-offensive line coach Cole Popovich would not be with the team this year due to “a decision related to the COVID-19 vaccine and NFL guidelines,” according to ESPN’s Mike Reiss.
“These are all things that play off the protocols from the league and so forth,” Belichick said of Popovich’s departure. “It is what it is.”
The Patriots begin training camp on Wednesday. Practice starts at 9:45 a.m. and will be open to the public.
