Gillette Stadium unveils new end zone video board (Photos)
As Gillette Stadium enters its 20th season, the building is getting one of its biggest upgrades yet. The south end zone video board, which has been seen under construction on social media throughout the summer, is finally complete.
Gillette Stadium’s Twitter account shared a photo of the newly-completed video board on Wednesday, ahead of it’s debut during the Revolution’s match with Toronto FC.

Introducing our new south end zone video board, providing 11,595 square feet of digital space to engage and entertain fans at Gillette Stadium: https://t.co/2JPIkNhoYi pic.twitter.com/aznRefwF1K
The massive video board totals 11,595 square feet, which is the equivalent of four and a half tennis courts. It is now the seventh-largest video board in the NFL, and second-largest in MLS only behind the one at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
In order to fit the massive screen into the preexisting space, it is noticeably offset to the left from the perspective of those looking at it. That means the center of the board is actually closer to the Patriots’ sideline – and Bill Belichick – than it is the visitors. A coincidence, or another case of chess vs. checkers?
Wednesday night, the Revolution made their debut under the new board, with a 3-2 loss to Toronto FC. The Patriots will get their first look at it during an in-stadium practice on Aug. 6, with their first game coming on Aug. 12.
