FOXBOROUGH, MASSACHUSETTS - AUGUST 18: Cam Newton #1 of the New England Patriots throws a ball during training camp at Gillette Stadium on August 18, 2020 in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

Patriots quarterback Cam Newton appeared to injure his throwing hand during practice on Friday at OTAs in Foxborough, according to multiple reports from those in attendance.

According to 98.5 The Sports Hub’s Alex Barth, Newton appeared to hurt either his thumb or the inside of his index finger on his right hand. Newton looked to be in “considerable pain” with trainers. He stayed on the field at practice but didn’t throw again for the rest of the day.

Newton did have one highlight-reel moment during OTAs on Friday … a one-handed catch.

Reporters will once again have access to Patriots practice during OTAs next Thursday, June 10.
